Water
I can push you out
Or pull you in,
When calm enough you see a reflection,
Raging I can cause a storm,
I float away when hot,
Yet harden like stone when Cold,
I can bring life,
As well as take it,
Strong to overcome stone,
Gently I can heal.

Daily prompt: Empty

Standard

Emptiness
I had love,
Happiness could’ve been ours,
You pretended and lied,
Covering a hatred you held,
Now your secret is out,
You can no longer hide,
My death you seek,
Cold betrayal I feel,
I try to cover the pain,
As you take me away,
Leaving me to rot,
Wondering how I did not see,
Knowing there’s little hope left,
You killed my friend,
I am alone,
Nothing but emptiness as company.

Daily prompt: Smitten/100 Posts Published

Standard

This will be my 100th Post to post here on my blog. 😀

I was wanting to do something special but…I’m having a hard time thinking of something to do/post. :-/

Though since it is Valentines I will like to give a little Shout out to My Amazing Husband:

Babe, you’re the best husband in the world! I thank Yahweh everyday for bring you into my life; marrying you was one of the best things that’s happened in my life. 😀 I don’t know where I’d be without. You are a hard worker and good provider for both Gideon and I; and it warms my heart every time I see you with Gideon. ❤ He loves his Daddy very much (Da-Da is still one of his favorite words to say through out the day)! Thanks for everything you do and for being such a Godly man. 🙂 I LOVE YOU with ALL of my Heart!!! ❤

Today’s Daily Prompt asks poets to show them SMITTEN…So here’s a Smitten/Love poem.

At first Glance
As you stepped into the room my heart thundered,
does he have a girlfriend? I wondered,
Your voice rang through my ears,
I had no more fears,
You smiled and my heart melted,
Hand in hand we danced, my spirits lifted,
You smitten-ed me with your charm,
Could I trust my heart? my brain alarmed,
Your brown eyes looked at me,
and right then I could see,
From my first glance at you,
I knew there’d be no others but  you.

Daily Post: Take That, Rosetta!

Standard

If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in any language you don’t currently speak, which would it be? Why? What’s the first thing you do with your new linguistic skills?

Spanish and German/Russian…toss up between German and Russian, but I definitely would love to become Fluent in Spanish/Mexican. I’ve tried learning it but only a few words have stuck everything else pretty much went in one ear and out the other. 🙂

Reason why would be because, well I am part Mexican so I have family members who speak it; also living in Texas there’s a lot of people who speak it here and I really think it would/will come in handy one of these days. 🙂 Plus I really like the sound of the Language too. 😛 I’m hoping to be able to get Gideon learn it once he gets a little older so maybe I’ll start learning it better when I try and teach him.

First thing I would do would call my Nana and talk with her in Spanish! 😀 She can speak English but I know she likes speaking Spanish way more. 😉

Daily Prompt: Ingredients

Standard

What’s the one item in your kitchen you can’t possibly cook without? A spice, your grandma’s measuring cup, instant ramen — what’s your magic ingredient, and why?

Depends what I’m cooking, but I love cooking with spices. Nothing specific, just whatever sounds good to me to add. I love having flavor and sometimes a little zing in my food. 🙂

Daily Prompt: The Show Must Go On

Standard

If you were involved in a movie, would you rather be the director, the producer, or the lead performer? (Note: you can’t be the writer!).

Lead Performer! Though if I could do two, then I’d also might like directing.

Seriously how awesome would it be to be able to make a movie exactly how you like/think it should go?! I’d have so much fun…well maybe depends how everyone works together and all, but if I was making a movie I’d definitely make sure everyone got along and had fun.

Though to be honest I don’t think I’d want to make my living doing it, maybe if it was just on rare occasion or something like that.

DPchallenge: Leave your shoes at the door

Daily Post Weekly Challenge

Split perspectives: For the fabulous flash fiction experts, let’s see all the angles of your story. Write a couple of paragraphs from one vantage point, and then turn the tables — and walk in the shoes of another character. Tell us the same story from their view.

Her breath came in gasps, sweat started to bead at her brow; fear gripped Ziva’s heart, as her legs began to give away. How much longer could she run?  “I’m coming for you!” He yelled, she looked around trying to find somewhere to hide, he had found her where she worked at Peaceful Garden Nursery and Corn Maze, they weren’t open today so no one else was there, she was just there to water plants and organize the flowers. She was currently in the corn maze, she knew this maze like the back of her hand, and that not far to left was the Nursery building, to her left was an abandoned building and to the back and the surrounding sides of the Nursery and the abandoned building was the woods. Pulling out her phone she quickly pushed redial to whoever she had talked to last which looked like Mikey, her long time friend and crush. “Hey Ziva! what’s…” she cut him off, “Mikey help! Please he’s after me, and is trying to kill me.” she rushed in a harsh whisper, as the tears rolled down her face

Mikey’s heart seemed to have stop for a second as the words Ziva said echoed through his mind. “Wait what? Where are you and who’s he?” “I’m at work, in the corn maze, at its Jim.” He knew little of Jim, other then he was her ex-Boyfriend and that he was a nut job. Mikey ran to the door of his house grabbing his truck keys as he went by the coffee table. Anger and Fear rushed through his veins, If that man so much as hurts a hair on her body… His thoughts trailed off as he heard someone yelling in the background “I’ll kill you!” he heard making him run even quicker to his truck, he started his truck and peeled out of the driveway,  “I’m on my way right now, I’ll be there as soon as I can, just leave your phone on.”

“Ok” Ziva replied before moving the phone from her ear. Jim was her ex-boyfriend  from last year, they had dated for three years when she lived in Nevada, she broke up because he was becoming to controlling and aggressive; he had taken the break up really hard even had started to stalk her, and that’s when she moved back to her hometown in Alabama, she hadn’t really talked much about where she was from, so she hoped and prayed he wouldn’t follow. She guessed that he had found out what town she was from. Jim called out again, “I loved you, and you left me for this dump.” “No you loved controlling me!” She answered back, before running in the the opposite direction. He sounded drunk so he was also making a lot of noise making it easy for her to know where he was at. As she rounded a corner she found a Pitch Fork that was stick out of a hay bale, they sometimes put hay bales out so people can take a break. She picked up the Fork hoping that she wouldn’t have to use it but figured she’d rather be safe then sorry.  She was close to the back of the maze so she decided to head for the trees; lifting the phone to her ear again she said “I’m headed to the trees that are at the back of the maze, Mikey.” “Ok…” before he finished his sentence the phone was swatted from her hand.

Jim had peeked around a corner and saw her standing there with her back towards him. He took a second to look at her, she was still so beautiful just like when he had last seen her. Remembering the last time he had seen her face to face  which was when she had left him, brought back all that anger and hate and hurt that she had brought to him. He quietly walked up behind her as she put her phone to her ear, she was talking into it, when he reached her he slapped the phone away and into the next row. Grabbing her hair he pulled her back and around to him.

Ziva let out a scream as Jim pulled her hair to make her come close to him.  “Hello Baby, why you running from me?” he muttered in her ear, his voice dripping like poisonous honey with the smell of liquor. “Let go of me, you dog.” She bit back trying to push him away, but he just jerked her head around and wrapped his right arm around her. She felt the knife he held in his right hand begin to dig into her side.

“Now now that’s no way to talk to your boyfriend.”Jim replied, anger boiling up inside of him. He wanted to make her suffer before killing her for what she had done to him, yet another side of him wanted nothing more then the hold her him his arms and spend the rest of their lives together. “Please don’t fight me baby, I love you and I don’t want to hurt you. Can’t we just move on and you can come back and live with me? I promise I won’t hurt you, I just want you in my life.” he said moving his fingers through her hair. He always liked her hair, it was silky, long and as Golden as the Sun; and her eyes as blue as the sky and as deep as the ocean, he could stay lost in those beautiful eyes forever.

Chills went up Ziva’s spine as Jim looked into her eyes with his dark ones, for a moment she could almost see the love in them but it disappeared as something else began to fill his eyes. There was no way to really describe what she could see in his eyes, just that they seemed so empty and evil, like they thirst for something that they couldn’t have. She wanted nothing more then to spit in his face and run for her life but she wasn’t sure how much longer she could run. She just hoped Mikey would get there soon.

Mikey raced down the road using his police radio that he had in his truck he radioed back to the station. “Hey Dina this is Mikey, I’ve got a situation can you send a car to the Peaceful Garden Nursery and Corn Maze out on Hwy 18? There’s a woman being attacked by a man who may be armed.” “Sure Mikey, I’m sending one out there right now closest one is about 10 minutes away.” “Thanks, I’m about 4 minutes from there, and I won’t be waiting for back-up.” “I’ll tell them to hurry, be careful.” I’m coming Ziva, hold on.

“Jim, I’d love to go with you, but I can’t. I’ve got a job and family who are counting on me right now.” Ziva fibbed trying to stall him until Mikey got there. “My mom isn’t doing well and had to go to the hospital the other day, and with Dad gone and all my siblings over seas at the moment, I’m the only one who can take care of her. And the Jim I know wouldn’t be selfish enough to just take me from my family, would you?” she said trying to put a little sadness in her eyes. The knife that was poking into her seemed to give a little, she could feel the blood begin to drip down her side. She gave a slight sigh. Then something changed in his eyes, and he jammed the knife deep into her side, sharp pain shot through her body as he held the knife tight against her side.

Blood began to flow from her body and over his hand, it felt warm and yet cool at that same time. Twisting his fingers once again through her hair he pulled her in, “this Jim is different!” he hissed before placing his lips on her.

Daily Prompt: SOS/Water

Standard

You’re at the beach, lounging on your towel, when a glistening object at the water’s edge catches your eye. It’s a bottle — and yes, it contains a message. What does it say?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us WATER.

There’s the Message in the bottle:

Please find my family, Tell my wife, Iva, I love her and I always will; my son, Sammy, he can be brave and strong and I’m always looking out on the them. I’m sorry for not being there, but I’ll always be in their hearts. Don’t trust Frank, he’s the one who did this to me, he is taking me from you, and has turned his back on everything good in this world. This was written in April of 1940. Thank you to who ever finds this, I hope you can get this to my family, please give them a hug for me. Signed-  SGT Joe Hunter”

And here’s a poem (the two have nothing to do with the other):

Ocean Side

I sit along the water’s edge,

Watching the waves crash,

The smell of salt water fills the air,

The wind blows softly,

Causing my hair to caresses my face,

And chills run up my spine,

Water reaches out to me,

As another wave hits the sand,

Blue and green is the water,

Yet as the sunsets on the horizon,

Red, purple, pink, and orange,

Shine in the sky and reflexes off the water,

White and blue are the waves,

As they seem to race towards me,

Water mist sprays in my face,

I can taste the salt on my lips,

The sound of the ocean,

Calming and peaceful as it sways with the wind,

Yet also almost angry when the waves collide,

Waves that seemed to control the ocean top,

Bigger ones over powering the smaller ones,

The ones further out seem so big and powerful,

Yet as it gets closer it’s powerful at times,

But also so giving and inviting,

As if calling out to me to join in their play,

 Dolphins jump in the distance,

I can faintly hear them playfully call out,

Seagulls fly above searching for their meal below,

I look up to the sky and see the moon,

Big and white as it begins to shine,

I move back a little ways,

As the waters try to reach for me again,

Behind me a little ways are trees,

Trees that lead up to a mountain,

Mountain that has a river running through it,

Through it and into the ocean,

To my left I see an older couple,

Holding hands as they walk along the beach,

I smile at the sight,

A blanket is placed around my shoulders,

I look up to see my Love,

He smiles and sits down beside me,

Our little one curled up in his arms sleeping,

Another wave crashes on the shore,

My heart beats move,

As I take in this moment,

Seeing the beauty that God has created,

And the beauty and love he has Blessed me with,

I lean and rest my head on his shoulder,

Closing my eyes I capture this moment,

This special moment,

Where everything seems perfect.

Daily Prompt: BFFs

Standard

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from the person you’re the closest to?Photographers, artists, poets: show us FRIENDS.

Friends and Friendships

I learned so much from our time as friends,

Though the biggest two,

I learned from you,

Communication, and friendship.

But we have drifted apart,

And we hardly talk;

It makes me sad sometimes but that’s okay,

For I have a new friend, two actually,

One I love with all my Heart and is my BFF,

And I know he’ll never hurt or leave me,

He makes me happy and laugh,

I’ve learned to be myself from him,

I’ve learned to trust, and that not everyone lies;

My Second friend,  she is kind and sometimes quiet,

but we still have lots to talk about,

Our friendship is still kinda new,

But I’m sure we have lots we can learn from each other.

So this is me, saying Farewell to an old friendship,

And welcoming new Friendships with open arms,

I can’t wait to learn more from you.

My Life Through Music

Video

So last night while driving home from my In-laws, Mr. K and I were listening to music and I came up with a pretty cool Idea for a blog post- using different songs tell about (the) different phases/events of my life.

Age 0-8 – Are you Washed in the Blood?, Blessed Assurance, and Build Your Kingdom here

My mom said that when I was a baby my Favorite song that I liked her to sing was Blessed Assurance, to this day it is still one of my favorite songs. At Age 7 I got saved hence Are you Washed in the Blood? And for Build Your Kingdom Here, from as early as I could remember until we started traveling around the USA (almost age 8) my family and I would get together with friends and go Street preaching just about anywhere in Portland, OR (Parades, Abortion Mills, Festivals, the Square,  Sea Side, ect.)

Age 7-10- Good life

When I was 7 y/o that was when my family first moved away from Portland from then until I was 10 we moved wherever my Dad’s job took him-Alabama, Kansas, Wyoming, Montana, back to Oregon, until we finally settled in Missouri. We hardly stayed in one place longer then 3 months. Don’t get me wrong I loved the travel! Though I did miss not having any friends. Good Life is the best song that I found that most resembles my life on the road I think. 🙂

Age 13-17  – Get off of My Back

Through out most of my teen years, I felt like I was always being judged or having to be someone I wasn’t that I couldn’t be the person that I wanted to be, so this Song pretty much resembles my thoughts/attitude during that time.

Age 15- Runaway-Love and Theft

When I was 15 I ran away from home, I was just lost and didn’t know what to do, and I just wanted to get away. Though I didn’t get every far before my dad came and found me.

Age 18-19-Let it Go, God Gave Me You, and SoulMate

18 is when I got married, and well..these songs kinda say how I felt. I felt like I could myself with my husband hence Let It Go, and I was completely in love with him, like I had found my Soul-Mate and I still feel that way. 🙂 ❤ I Love You Sweetie!! (Another song that resembles how I felt/feel is God Gave Me You

Age 20-Every Good Thing-The Afters

As for how my life is going right now, This song pretty much sums it all up! 😀
